Getting to West Midlands Safari Park

As the West Midlands Safari Park is predominantly a drive-thru experience, you will want to locate and secure a car. Once you have done so, head to Bewdley (just outside of Kidderminster) and follow the signs. It is recommended that you book your tickets in advance so that you can escape the queues and make the risk of not getting into the safari park redundant. Once you have arrived, simply follow the instructions for the drive-thru experience, and once this has been completed, explore the rest of the safari park on foot.

For parents who need to plan how long exploring the safari park will take, driving through the animal enclosure usually takes around 1 hour and 15 minutes (if the park is not busy). If you are looking for a less chaotic experience, you will want to avoid the safari park around its busier times which is between 11:30am and 2:30pm. As you may expect, the West Midlands Safari Park can become exceptionally busy during the school holidays.

What Animals Can You See?

The West Midlands Safari Park is separated into segments so that you can experience a selection of animals as they would be in their natural habitat. What this means is that you can enter what is named the ‘African Plains’ and gaze upon an elegant, giraffe or spot a stripy zebra in the distance. There is an abundance of animals for you to see and learn about during the drive-thru experience, allowing you to get an up-close experience with such incredible animals.

When driving through the safari park, you will enter the following areas:

  • African Plains (Congo buffalo, giraffes, zebras, antelope)
  • Wild Asia (rhino, blackbuck, deer)
  • Carnivores (tigers, cheetah, African lion)
  • The Borderlands (camels)
  • Elephants

How to Enjoy the West Midlands Safari Park Theme Park

There is a lot to see and do, so before you arrive, it may be smart to plan out your day and map out the experiences you want to engage in. For example, there are a selection of VIP experiences such as watching lion feedings as well as a sea lion show. However, you can also walk around the park and learn about dinosaurs, jump on theme park rides, and even experience a jungle through virtual reality.

There is a lot to see and do at the West Midlands Safari Park. Make sure to book your tickets in advance so that you can avoid disappointment and ready yourself to experience such majestic and exotic creatures!
