Celebrating the Arrival of the Royal Baby

The latest addition to the royal family is due this summer and the city seems to be filled with an air of expectancy as Kate Middleton’s due date creeps ever closer. A Royal Summer – The Athenaeum

A stunning collection of photographs of the royal babies of the past, the exhibition is entitled ’The Royal Child’ and located in the Athenaeum Hotel which is literally a stone’s throw from Buckingham Palace. The exhibition includes some rarely seen images of the royal babies dating back to the Victorian era through to the very latest additions to the royal family. As well as enjoying the exhibition you will also be able to indulge in an award winning afternoon tea.

The Royal Baby Shower Afternoon Tea – St James’s Hotel & Club

Kate Middleton is reported to be the first member of the royal family to be given a baby shower. In recognition of the occasion all expectant mums to be will be treated like royalty themselves. Up until July 31st mums to be will be given a luxury baby gift, enjoy a pregnancy spa treatment and then be able to relax with afternoon tea prepared by an award winning chef. The package will set you back £89 but considering the cost of the spa treatment and all of the other goodies (the baby gift is reported to be worth up to £85) it is worth every penny. Royal Labour of Love Menu – The Cinnamon Club

Between the 17th and the 20th July the Cinnamon Club will be running their Royal Labour of Love Menu. This is set to coincide with Kate’s due date. The five courses aim to mimic the different stages of pregnancy. The dishes are designed to curb cravings, and if necessary kick start labour. Plus if you do happen to go into labour while you are enjoying your meal you will receive a free meal every year on the anniversary of the event!

A ‘baby moon’ is the name given to the last romantic escape you enjoy before the arrival of your new baby. A chance to relax before the long haul of sleepless nights arrives.
