Travel Britain: Skiing In Scotland

Scotland boasts some of the world's most famous golf courses, but in the winter it is a paradise for skiing. There are several world class resorts in addition to the history and culture that Scotland offers. Scotland is a beautiful island that offers world class cities in addition to the beautiful countryside.

If you choose to go on a skiing vacation to Scotland consider going to the most famous ski resort called Aviemore. It is located in the Scottish Highlands and attracts visitors from all over the world. It is a first class resort that offers everything you could ever imagine. The restaurants there are some of the finest that Scotland has to offer. Aviemore is also a village that has friendly people and a relaxed atmosphere.

If you are not looking to spend so much money at a first class resort there are several other resorts in the Scottish Highlands that are a good value. However, it can be hard to get a good deal because these resorts still tend to cater to the wealthy skiers of the world. If you do your research you should be able to find a good resort that can cater to your needs without breaking your wallet.

If you do come to Scotland be sure that you know that the currency is the Sterling Pound. You can go to any local travel agent or currency conversion center in your home town to get a good exchange rate before you leave. However, there is generally a commission so be careful for these. Also be sure that you are getting the best exchange rate possible. If you do a little research here as well you should be able to get the best rate possible.

Some of the best deals for traveling to Scotland can be found online. In addition to getting a great deal you can also find all the information that you could ever want about Scotland and the ski resorts it offers. If you do not want to stay at a ski resort but still want to go skiing while staying in the city this is quite easy. There are several ski slopes in and around the city. Polmont is a fabulous city that is located between Glasgow and Edinburgh and also offers great skiing. You can also visit an artificial ski slope that is indoors. You may also be lucky enough to see top level skiers here as they use these artificial slopes to train. If the slope is open to the public the day you are there it is definitely worthwhile to check out.

If you are thinking of going on a ski vacation you should definitely consider Scotland. With a little bit of digging you can find several great deals on ski package tours. A Scotland ski holiday will offer you great skiing with great cities within a short drive.
