Celebrity Spotting in London’s Restaurant Scene

There is always something happening in London that draws celebrities into the city from far and wide.  Film premieres, award ceremonies and on location filming mean that at any time you could bump into one of your television favourites or a big screen legend.  However the chances of you just bumping into them on the street is very low, so instead, try booking a table at some of the celebrity frequented restaurants that regularly draw in those big name diners.

The Ivy

The Ivy has been counting the rich and famous among its clientele for many years.  This highly respected restaurant is located in London’s famous theatre district and is known for serving traditional British food with elegance and style.  In order to secure a table though you will need to book will in advance.

Nobu Berkeley

This incredible sushi and Japanese fusion eatery is a sister establishment of Nobu in Park Lane and is proving incredibly popular with many A-list celebrities, such as Hollywood head liner Brad Pitt.  In order to secure a table though you will have to get here pretty early, Nobu Berkeley do not accept reservations so those wanting a table are required to queue, and those queues can be pretty long.

Sketch

Sketch is actually home to three restaurants, and if you are looking to dine surrounded by familiar faces from film and TV then you should book your table in the Lecture Room.  Sketch is an establishment which offers a unique style and flair that you will not find anywhere else.  It is opulent and elegant and if you do want to dine here, book your table as much in advance as you can.

C London

Formerly known as Cipriani, this is a place where you will have to walk through assembled paparazzi in order to get to your table.  C London is the international sister establishment of the famous Harry’s Bar in the beautiful city of Venice.  This is a world of fabulous Italian food set amid star studded surroundings in the heart of Mayfair.

China Tang – The Dorchester

Walk through the doors of China Tang and you find yourself immersed in a little piece of Shanghai, all located within Mayfair’s Dorchester Hotel.  Widely regarded as serving some of the most incredible Cantonese food outside of China the restaurant is popular with supermodels and celebrities as well as high flying business leaders.

Julie’s Restaurant

It’s not big and it’s not flashy but it has been drawing celebrities through its doors for over thirty years.  Located in Holland Park it has everything you could need to dine incognito, such as cosy alcoves, boho décor and even a secret rear door for that quick escape.

Zuma

This very fashionable restaurant is located in Knightsbridge and is known for attracting celebrities like Lady GaGa and Kate Moss.  The food here is Japanese, two of the rooms serve the more traditional items of Japanese cuisine with the third room serving a more contemporary menu.  Sit back relax and enjoy celebrity spotting at the bar.
