St. Mary's Church - Most of the original 12th century church was destroyed by the French in 1377, but it was rebuilt during the next century. On the outside of the north transept is the elaborate face of the 16th century clock. Two gilded cherubs strike bells at quarter past and quarter to the hour. The 18-foot [5.5m] pendulum inside is believed to be the oldest in England that still works with the original mechanism (1561-62).
